Parent Project is organizing a webinar, aimed at the Duchenne and Becker community, dedicated to the topic of clinical trials, on Thursday, May 6 at 6 pm (CET). The meeting will take place on Zoom and it will allow a shared reflection on what clinical trials are and on the experiences of families who have undertaken this path.

Starting from the contents of the video animation on this very theme, the operators of the Duchenne Counselling Centre and the Scientific Area of the association will lead a discussion that will touch on various phases of a trial, from the point of view of boys and their families. The voices of parents from our community, talking about their experiences, will be the core of the webinar.

We will talk about the decision-making phase, in which the family chooses whether to propose their child for participation in a trial, the screening procedures and all the doubts and practical issues to be taken into consideration in this choice. We will reflect on the reality of the trial itself, again through voices of our community, and finally we will discuss the phase that marks the end of this path, with its possible outcomes and how these can be experienced on an emotional level.

A translation in English will be available. To join the webinar please send an email to internazionale@parentproject.it and you will receive the credentials to enter the platform.

The webinar will also be on live stream on Parent Project’s YouTube in Italian) and Facebook (in English) channels. For those who will follow the webinar on social media (instead of Zoom), any questions to the speakers can be sent via WhatsApp to +39 3423289199.
